It’s never to late to blog an engagement session right? I hope not, because we just shot this session last week and I am shooting their wedding tomorrow! Laura and Jonathon, were amazing to work with for their session. Throughout the session I was getting SO excited to shoot their wedding and before I knew it; it’s here! I really can’t believe that I waited this long to blog this awesome wedding. Lisa and Nate were a lot of fun to work with. From the first time I met with them, I hoped they would book with me. Well, obviously they did, and their wedding was amazing. This wasn’t the insane snow storm that we had but it was pretty close. There was a ton of snow but it didn’t stop us from getting some great photos. As we head into what will hopefully be a beautiful Memorial Day weekend, seeing the winter snow will hopefully make us appreciate it a little more. Have a great and safe weekend!

I’m just going to go ahead and say it; this was an absolutely amazing session! I think it lasted almost 4 hours but we just seemed to keep coming up with cool ideas. I think I really love the idea of starting in the evening and shooting into the dark. It just gives photos a whole different feel to them. I can’t wait for Kelsey and Nate’s wedding, were we are no doubt going to get some more amazing photos.

Before I attempt to catch up on blogging some of my other work, I wanted to blog my latest winter wedding. Was it cold? Yes. Does it get dark early? Yes. Did the wedding party tough it out? Yes. These days, the snow and cold certainly isn’t exclusive to the midwest, but I love shooting winter weddings. They aren’t as common, but thats what makes them unique.

Mike + Glenna :: PROPOSAL

Merry Christmas everyone!

The game has officially been stepped up thanks to Mike Stone.

Last night I had the absolute honor of capturing two people beginning the next chapter of their lives together. Over the last month or so, Mike and I have been coordinating (mostly Mike) how exactly this was going to happen. They went to dinner at the St. Paul Hotel while I was over at the skating rink in Rice Park getting things ready. I got the 5 minute warning via text message from Mike to let me know they were coming. So I rolled out the red carpet, literally, and put the ring out at the end of it and tried to be as inconspicuous as possible. They stepped out on the ice and Glenna knew right away what was going on. It was so much fun and it couldn’t have gone more smoothly. This was the perfect way to begin the holiday season.

I met with Britt and Greg to do some family photos with them and their son Brooks awhile ago. I think it might have been one of the last beautiful days we’ve had in MN. Everything went perfect! We stopped at a few different locations and managed to get some amazing photos. Thank you Britt and Greg for having me shoot your beautiful family.

Jessica and Nick were probably two of the most laid back people I’ve ever met. Their wedding day went so smooth. It was a real joy working with the two of them.

Oh, and her Dad married the two of them, how cool is that!?
